✧ He performed wudu, washing his face. Then he took a handful of water and rinsed his mouth with it and snuffed water into his nose. Then he took a handful and did like this with it—meaning he added it to his other hand—and washed his face with it. Then he took a handful of water and washed his right hand with it. Then he took a handful of water and washed his left hand with it. Then he wiped his head. Then he took a handful of water and sprinkled it on his right foot until he washed it. Then he took another handful and washed his left foot with it. Then he said: This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

machine translationIbn Lahīʿah and Rishdīn b. Saʿd narrated it from al-Ḍaḥḥāk b. Sharḥabīl, from Zayd b. Aslam, from his father, from ʿUmar. ʿAbdullāh b. Sinān contradicted him and narrated it from Zayd b. Aslam, from Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ. Both are mistaken (wahm). The correct version is from Zayd b. Aslam, from ʿAṭāʾ b. Yasār, from Ibn ʿAbbās; this is how the memorizers (ḥuffāẓ) narrated it from Zayd b. Aslam.
