حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ بَلَغَهَا
بَلَغَهَا أَنَّ نَاسًا يَقُولُونَ: إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ يَقْطَعُهَا الْكَلْبُ، وَالْحِمَارُ، وَالْمَرْأَةُ، قَالَتْ: أَلَا أُرَاهُمْ قَدْ عَدَلُونَا بِالْكِلَابِ وَالْحُمُرِ !! رُبَّمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي بِاللَّيْلِ، وَأَنَا عَلَى السَّرِيرِ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ، فَتَكُونُ لِي الْحَاجَةُ، فَأَنْسَلُّ مِنْ قِبَلِ رِجْلِ السَّرِيرِ كَرَاهِيَةَ أَنْ أَسْتَقْبِلَهُ بِوَجْهِي.

✧ It reached her that some people were saying that the prayer is invalidated by a dog, a donkey, and a woman. She said: 'Do they not see that they have made us equal to dogs and donkeys?! Many times I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying at night while I was on the bed between him and the qiblah, and I would need something, so I would slip away from the foot of the bed, disliking to face him.'
