حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ الْجَذْمِيِّ عَنِ الْجَارُودِ قَالَ قُلْتُ أَوْ قَالَ

رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولًَ اللهِ اللُّقَطَةُ نَجِدُهَا؟ قَالَ انْشُدْهَا وَلَا تَكْتُمْ وَلَا تُغِيِّبْ فَإِنْ وَجَدْتَ رَبِّهَا فَادْفَعْهَا إِلَيْهِ وَإِلَّا فَمَالُ اللهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ

Translation

✧ A man said, “O Messenger of God, what about lost property we find?” He said, “Make public announcement of it, and do not conceal it or hide it. If you find its owner, return it to him; otherwise, it is the wealth of God, which He gives to whomever He wills.”
