حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ وَعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَا أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ يَسْأَلُ بِلَالًا كَيْفَ مَسَحَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ؟ قَالَ تَبَرَّزَ ثُمَّ دَعَا بِمِطْهَرَةٍ أَيْ إِدَاوَةٍ فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ وَيَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ مَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ وَعَلَى خِمَارِ الْعِمَامَةِ قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ثُمَّ دَعَا بِمِطْهَرَةٍ بِالْإِدَاوَةِ

✧ He heard ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿAwf ask Bilāl how the Prophet ﷺ wiped over the leather socks. He said: He relieved himself, then called for a purifier—that is, a water vessel—and washed his face and hands, then wiped over his leather socks and over the turban cloth. ʿAbd al-Razzāq said: Then he called for a purifier—with the water vessel.
