حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي صُعَيْرٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ أُحُدٍ أَشْرَفَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى الشُّهَدَاءِ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا يَوْمَئِذٍ، فَقَالَ: زَمِّلُوهُمْ بِدِمَائِهِمْ، فَإِنِّي قَدْ شَهِدْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ، فَكَانَ يُدْفَنُ الرَّجُلَانِ وَالثَّلَاثَةُ فِي الْقَبْرِ الْوَاحِدِ، وَيَسْأَلُ: أَيُّهُمْ كَانَ أَقْرَأَ لِلْقُرْآنِ ؟ فَيُقَدِّمُونَهُ، قَالَ جَابِرٌ: فَدُفِنَ أَبِي وَعَمِّي يَوْمَئِذٍ فِي قَبْرٍ وَاحِدٍ

✧ On the day of Uhud, the Prophet ﷺ honored the martyrs who were killed that day. He said, "Join them with their blood, as I bear witness for them." So, two men and three were buried in the same grave. They were asked, "Who among them used to recite the Quran?" They would then present him. Jabir said, "My father and uncle were buried that day in one grave."
