machine translationIt was narrated by al-Mufaḍḍal b. Ṣadaqah al-Ḥanafī from Saʿīd b. Masrūq from al-Musayyab b. Rāfiʿ from Qarthaʿ. Al-Aʿmash disagreed with him and narrated it from al-Musayyab b. Rāfiʿ from ʿAlī b. al-Ṣalt from Abū Ayyūb. Sharīk said this from al-Aʿmash. It was also said: from al-Thawrī from al-Aʿmash from al-Musayyab b. Rāfiʿ from a man of the Anṣār from Abū Ayyūb. ʿUbaydah b. Muʿattib narrated it from Ibrāhīm al-Nakhaʿī from Sahm b. Minjāb from Qazaʿah, the freedman of Ziyād, who narrates from Abū Saʿīd and was his companion, from Qarthaʿ from Abū Ayyūb. Abū Muʿāwiyah said this from ʿUbaydah. Zayd b. Abī Unaysah said from ʿUbaydah from Ibrāhīm from Qazaʿah from Qarthaʿ from Abū Ayyūb, without mentioning Sahm in it. The statement of Abū Muʿāwiyah is closer to the correct one.
