✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to regularly perform four rak'ahs when the sun declined. He said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, what are these rak'ahs that I see you have made a regular practice? He said: The gates of heaven are opened when the sun declines, and they are not closed until the noon prayer is performed. So I love that good should ascend for me during that time. He said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, do you recite in all of them? He said: He said: Yes. He said: I said: Is there in them a separating salutation? He said: No.

Al-Aʿmash disagreed with him and narrated it from al-Musayyab b. Rāfiʿ from ʿAlī b. al-Ṣalt from Abū Ayyūb. Sharīk said this from al-Aʿmash.
