حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا حُيَيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمَعَافِرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيِّ قَالَ كُنَّا فِي الْبَحْرِ وَعَلَيْنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ قَيْسٍ الْفَزَارِيُّ وَمَعَنَا أَبُوأَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ فَمَرَّ بِصَاحِبِ الْمَقَاسِمِ وَقَدْ أَقَامَ السَّبْيَ فَإِذَا امْرَأَةٌ تَبْكِي فَقَالَ مَا
كُنَّا فِي الْبَحْرِ وَعَلَيْنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ قَيْسٍ الْفَزَارِيُّ، وَمَعَنَا أَبُو أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، فَمَرَّ بِصَاحِبِ الْمَقَاسِمِ وَقَدْ أَقَامَ السَّبْيَ، فَإِذَا امْرَأَةٌ تَبْكِي فَقَالَ: مَا شَأْنُ هَذِهِ؟ قَالُوا: فَرَّقُوا بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ وَلَدِهَا. قَالَ: فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِ وَلَدِهَا حَتَّى وَضَعَهُ فِي يَدِهَا. فَانْطَلَقَ صَاحِبُ الْمَقَاسِمِ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ فَأَخْبَرَهُ، فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى أَبِي أَيُّوبَ فَقَالَ: مَا حَمَلَكَ عَلَى مَا صَنَعْتَ؟ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: مَنْ فَرَّقَ بَيْنَ وَالِدَةٍ وَوَلَدِهَا فَرَّقَ اللهُ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْأَحِبَّةِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ.

✧ We were at sea, and 'Abd Allah b. Qays al-Fazari was in command of us, and Abu Ayyub al-Ansari was with us. He passed by the man in charge of distributing captives, who had set up the captives, and there was a woman weeping. He said: 'What is the matter with this woman?' They said: 'They separated her from her child.' He said: 'He took her child by the hand until he placed it in her hand.' The distributor went to 'Abd Allah b. Qays and informed him, and he sent for Abu Ayyub and said: 'What made you do what you did?' He said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever separates a mother from her child, Allah will separate him from his loved ones on the Day of Resurrection."'
