✧ Hudhayfah b. al-Yaman about the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا بَكَّارٌ حَدَّثَنِي خَلَّادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا الطُّفَيْلِ يُحَدِّثُ
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنَ الْيَمَانِ يَقُولُ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ أَلَا تَسْأَلُونِي؟ فَإِنَّ النَّاسَ كَانُوا يَسْأَلُونَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْخَيْرِ وَكُنْتُ أَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ الشَّرِّ إِنَّ اللهَ بَعَثَ نَبِيَّهُ ﷺ فَدَعَا النَّاسَ مِنَ الْكُفْرِ إِلَى الْإِيمَانِ وَمِنَ الضَّلَالَةِ إِلَى الْهُدَى فَاسْتَجَابَ لَهُ مَنْ اسْتَجَابَ فَحَيِيَ مِنَ الْحَقِّ مَا كَانَ مَيْتًا وَمَاتَ مِنَ الْبَاطِلِ مَا كَانَ حَيًّا ثُمَّ ذَهَبَتِ النُّبُوَّةُ فَكَانَتِ الْخِلَافَةُ عَلَى مِنْهَاجِ النُّبُوَّةِ
Translation

✧ That he heard Hudhayfah b. al-Yaman say: 'O people, will you not ask me? For the people used to ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about good, and I used to ask him about evil. Allah sent His Prophet ﷺ, and he called the people from disbelief to faith and from misguidance to guidance. Those who responded to him responded, and what was dead of truth came alive, and what was alive of falsehood died. Then prophethood departed, and the caliphate was upon the path of prophethood.'
