✧ That he heard Ḥudhayfah b. al-Yamān say: "The Messenger of God ﷺ was absent from us one day and did not come out until we thought he would never come out. When he came out, he prostrated with a single prostration, and we thought that his soul had been taken during it. When he raised his head, he said: 'My Lord consulted me about my community—what should I do with them? I said, "Whatever You will, O Lord; they are Your creation and Your servants." He consulted me a second time, and I said the same to Him. He said, "I will not grieve you concerning your community, O Muḥammad." And He gave me glad tidings that the first of my community to enter Paradise with me will be seventy thousand, with every thousand accompanied by seventy thousand, upon whom there will be no reckoning. Then He sent to me and said, "Supplicate, and you will be answered; ask, and you will be given." I said to His messenger, "Will my Lord give me what I ask?" He said, "He did not send me to you except to give you." And my Lord has given me—and I do not say this out of pride—and forgiven me my past and future sins, while I walk alive and healthy. He has given me that my community will not starve and will not be overcome. He has given me al-Kawthar, a river from Paradise that flows into my basin. He has given me might, victory, and fear that runs a month's journey before my community. He has given me that I will be the first of the prophets to enter Paradise. He has made spoils good for me and my community, and has made lawful for us much of what was stringent upon those before us, and has not placed upon us any hardship.'"
