✧ That the Messenger of God ﷺ said: "The Burāq was brought to me—a white, long beast that placed its hoof at the limit of its gaze. We did not leave its back, I and Gabriel, until I came to Jerusalem. The gates of heaven were opened for us, and I saw Paradise and the Fire." Ḥudhayfah b. al-Yamān said: "And he did not pray in Jerusalem?" Zirr said: "I said to him, 'Yes, he did pray.'" Ḥudhayfah said: "What is your name, O bald one? I recognize your face but do not know your name." I said: "I am Zirr b. Ḥubaysh." He said: "And what makes you know that he prayed?" I said: "God says: {Glory be to Him who took His servant by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque, whose precincts We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing} [al-Isrāʾ:1]." He said: "Do you find that he prayed? Had he prayed, you would have prayed in it as you pray in the Sacred Mosque." Zirr said: "And he tied the beast to the ring by which the prophets tie it." Ḥudhayfah said: "Was he afraid that it might leave him when God had brought it to him?"
