حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ قَيْسٍ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لِعَمَّارٍ أَرَأَيْتُمْ صَنِيعَكُمْ هَذَا الَّذِي صَنَعْتُمْ فِيمَا كَانَ مِنْ أَمْرِ عَلِيٍّ رَأْيًا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ أَمْ شَيْئًا عَهِدَ إِلَيْكُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَ لَمْ يَعْهَدْ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ شَيْئًا لَمْ يَعْهَدْهُ إِلَى النَّاسِ كَافَّةً وَلَكِنَّ حُذَيْفَةَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ فِي أَصْحَابِي اثْنَا عَشَرَ مُنَافِقًا مِنْهُمْ ثَمَانِيَةٌ لَا يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ حَتَّى يَلِجَ الْجَمَلُ فِي سَمِّ الْخِيَاطِ

✧ I said to 'Ammar, "Do you think that this action of yours regarding the matter of 'Ali was an opinion you held, or something the Messenger of God ﷺ entrusted to you?" He said, "The Messenger of God ﷺ did not entrust us with anything he did not entrust to all the people. But Hudhayfah informed me from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: 'Among my Companions are twelve hypocrites, eight of whom will not enter Paradise until a camel passes through the eye of a needle.'"
