✧ Hudhayfah b. al-Yaman about the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ قَالَ انْطَلَقْتُ أَنَا وَعَمْرُو بْنُ صُلَيْعٍ حَتَّى أَتَيْنَا حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ هَذَا الْحَيَّ مِنْ مُضَرَ لَا تَدَعُ لِلَّهِ فِي الْأَرْضِ عَبْدًا صَالِحًا إِلَّا افْتَتَنَتْهُ وَأَهْلَكَتْهُ حَتَّى يُدْرِكَهَا اللهُ بِجُنُودٍ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ فَيُذِلَّهَا حَتَّى لَا تَمْنَعَ ذَنَبَ تَلْعَةٍ

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "This tribe of Mudar will not leave any righteous servant of Allah on earth without trying to corrupt and destroy him, until Allah sends against it armies from Himself and humiliates it, so that it cannot even defend the tail of a watercourse."
