✧ I indeed know better than the Dajjal what is with the Dajjal. With him are two flowing rivers: one appears to the eye as white water, and the other appears to the eye as blazing fire. If any of you reaches him, let him go to the river that he sees as fire, then let him close his eyes, then lower his head and drink, for it is cold water. And the Dajjal has a defective left eye, upon it a thick covering, and between his eyes is written 'kafir' (disbeliever), which every believer, literate or illiterate, can read.

machine translationHe was asked about the hadith of Ribʿī from Abū Masʿūd, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "A man met his Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, and He said: What did you do? He said: I did no good except that I used to lend to people, so I would give respite to the well-off and overlook the one in difficulty. So Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said: Overlook his faults." And "A man was extravagant (in sin) and said at the time of his death: When I die, burn me..." - the hadith. He said: It is narrated by Abū Mālik al-Ashjaʿī, Nuʿaym b. Abī Hind and ʿAbd al-Malik b. ʿUmayr, from Ribʿī, from Ḥudhayfah and Abū Masʿūd. Abū Khālid al-Aḥmar made an error (wahima) in it: he narrated it from Abū Mālik al-Ashjaʿī, from Ribʿī, from Ḥudhayfah, and said in it: ʿUqbah b. ʿĀmir al-Juhanī and Abū Masʿūd al-Anṣārī said: "This is how we heard it from the Prophet ﷺ." The correct version is: ʿUqbah b. ʿAmr Abū Masʿūd said.
