✧ He sought permission to enter upon the Prophet ﷺ and said: May I enter? The Prophet ﷺ said to his servant: Go out to him, for he does not know how to seek permission well. Tell him: Let him say: Peace be upon you, may I enter? He said: I heard him saying that, so I said: Peace be upon you, may I enter? He said: Then he gave permission, or he said: Then I entered. I said: What have you brought us? He said: I have brought you nothing but good. I have come to you so that you worship Allah alone, with no partner. Shuʿba said: I think he said: Alone, with no partner; and that you abandon al-Lāt and al-ʿUzzā; and that you pray five prayers by night and day; and that you fast one month of the year; and that you perform pilgrimage to the House; and that you take from the wealth of your rich and return it to your poor. He said: Then he said: Is there anything of knowledge left that you do not know? He said: Allah has known good, and among knowledge is what none knows but Allah: the five. Indeed, Allah has knowledge of the Hour, and He sends down the rain, and He knows what is in the wombs, and no soul knows what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul knows in which land it will die. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware.
