حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ حَدَّثَنِي سَلْمٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ أَبِي الْهُذَيْلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي صَاحِبٌ لِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ
تَبًّا لِلذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ قَالَ: فَحَدَّثَنِي صَاحِبِي أَنَّهُ انْطَلَقَ مَعَ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَوْلُكَ تَبًّا لِلذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ مَاذَا؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: لِسَانًا ذَاكِرًا، وَقَلْبًا شَاكِرًا، وَزَوْجَةً تُعِينُ عَلَى الْآخِرَةِ
Translation

✧ Perdition to gold and silver! My companion told me that he went with 'Umar b. al-Khattab, and he said: 'O Messenger of Allah, your saying "Perdition to gold and silver"—what does it mean?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'A tongue that remembers, a heart that is grateful, and a wife who helps in the Hereafter.'
