حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَابِسٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ قَالَ
إِنَّمَا نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْحِجَامَةِ لِلصَّائِمِ، وَالْوِصَالِ فِي الصِّيَامِ؛ إِبْقَاءً عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ، وَلَمْ يُحَرِّمْهُمَا قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ، قَالَ: إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ؛ إِنِّي أَظَلُّ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ only forbade cupping for the fasting person and continuous fasting during the fast out of concern for his companions, and he did not prohibit them. They said: "O Messenger of Allah, but you fast continuously." He said: "I am not like any of you; my Lord keeps feeding me and giving me drink."
