حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَعَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
مَرِضَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ أَبِي رَجُلٌ رَقِيقٌ فَقَالَ: مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ، فَإِنَّكُنَّ صَوَاحِبَاتُ يُوسُفَ فَأَمَّ أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّاسَ، وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَيٌّ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ fell ill and said, "Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." Aisha said, "O Messenger of Allah, my father is a gentle man." He said, "Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer. Verily, you are the companions of Yusuf. Should Abu Bakr not lead the people while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is alive?"
