حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ الْمُثَنَّى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُثَنَّى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ يَعْنِي الضُّبَعِيَّ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّهُ عَادَ أَخًا لَهُ، فَرَأَى جَبِينَهُ يَعْرَقُ، فَقَالَ: اللهُ أَكْبَرُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: أَوْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ فِي حَدِيثِهِ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: الْمُؤْمِنُ يَمُوتُ بِعَرَقِ الْجَبِينِ

✧ He visited a brother of his and saw his forehead sweating. He said: 'God is greatest. I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say' – or the Messenger of God ﷺ said. Abu Dawud said in his narration: 'I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: The believer dies with the sweat of his brow.'
