✧ I and my father entered upon Mu'awiyah, and he seated us on the cushions. Then food was brought to us, and we ate. Then drink was brought, and Mu'awiyah drank, then he passed it to my father, then he said: I have not drunk it since the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade it. Then Mu'awiyah said: I was the most handsome of the youth of Quraysh and the best of them in teeth. There was nothing I found more pleasurable as a young man than milk, or a person of good conversation talking to me.
