✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ took a pledge from us as he took from the women, or the people: that we would not associate anything with God, that we would not steal, that we would not commit adultery, that we would not kill our children, that we would not slander, that none of us would defame one another, and that we would not disobey him in what is right. Whoever among you commits a transgression of what was forbidden and is punished for it, that is an expiation for him. And whoever is delayed, his affair is up to God [Blessed and Exalted is He]; if He wills, He punishes him, and if He wills, He forgives him.
