✧ A woman from Khath’am sought a ruling from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the Farewell Pilgrimage, with al-Fadl b. Abbas riding behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, Allah’s obligation of Hajj has come upon my father, an old man who cannot sit upright on a riding camel. Is it sufficient if I perform Hajj on his behalf?’ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her: ‘Yes.’ Al-Fadl b. Abbas began to look at her, and she was a beautiful woman. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took hold of al-Fadl and turned his face to the other side.
