Thawban, the freed servant of the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الزَّاهِرِيَّةِ عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ
ذَبَحَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أُضْحِيَّةً لَهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي: يَا ثَوْبَانُ، أَصْلِحْ لَحْمَ هَذِهِ الشَّاةِ. قَالَ: فَمَا زِلْتُ أُطْعِمُهُ مِنْهَا حَتَّى قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ slaughtered a sacrificial animal for himself, then said to me: "O Thawban, prepare the meat of this sheep." He said: And I continued to feed him from it until he reached Madinah.
