حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ الْحِمْصِيِّ قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ
إِنَّ الْوُضُوءَ يُكَفِّرُ مَا قَبْلَهُ، ثُمَّ تَصِيرُ الصَّلَاةُ نَافِلَةً قَالَ: فَقِيلَ لَهُ: أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، غَيْرَ مَرَّةٍ، وَلَا مَرَّتَيْنِ، وَلَا ثَلَاثٍ، وَلَا أَرْبَعٍ وَلَا خَمْسٍ
Translation

✧ Ablution expiates what came before it, then the prayer becomes a supererogatory act. It was said to him: 'Did you hear this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' He said: 'Yes, not once, nor twice, nor three, nor four, nor five times.'
