حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ سَمِعْتُ إِيَادَ بْنَ لَقِيطٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ لَيْلَى امْرَأَةَ بَشِيرٍ
أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ: أَصُومُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ، وَلَا أُكَلِّمُ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ أَحَدًا ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: لَا تَصُمْ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ إِلَّا فِي أَيَّامٍ هُوَ أَحَدُهَا، أَوْ فِي شَهْرٍ، وَأَمَّا أَنْ لَا تُكَلِّمَ أَحَدًا فَلَعَمْرِي لَأَنْ تَكَلِّمَ بِمَعْرُوفٍ وَتَنْهَى عَنْ مُنْكَرٍ، خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَنْ تَسْكُتَ

✧ He asked the Prophet ﷺ: “Should I fast on Friday and not speak to anyone that day?” The Prophet ﷺ said: “Do not fast on Friday unless it is part of days in which it is included, or within a month. As for not speaking to anyone, by my life, speaking what is good and forbidding what is evil is better than keeping silent.”
