حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُمْهَانَ ح وَعَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنِي حَمَّادٌ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُمْهَانَ عَنْ سَفِينَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ

الْخِلَافَةُ ثَلَاثُونَ عَامًا، ثُمَّ يَكُونُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ الْمُلْكُ قَالَ سَفِينَةُ: أَمْسِكْ خِلَافَةَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ [ ؓ ] سَنَتَيْنِ، وَخِلَافَةَ عُمَرَ [ ؓ ] عَشْرَ سِنِينَ، وَخِلَافَةَ عُثْمَانَ [ ؓ ] اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً، وَخِلَافَةَ عَلِيٍّ [ ؓ ] سِتَّ سِنِينَ [ ؓ ].

✧ The caliphate is thirty years, then after that there will be kingship. Safīna said: 'Hold: the caliphate of Abū Bakr ؓ two years, the caliphate of ʿUmar ؓ ten years, the caliphate of ʿUthmān ؓ twelve years, and the caliphate of ʿAlī ؓ six years ؓ.'
