✧ A man from Kindah and a man from Hadramawt disputed before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ over land in Yemen. The Hadrami said: O Messenger of Allah, my land—this man and his father usurped it. The Kindi said: O Messenger of Allah, it is my land; I inherited it from my father. The Hadrami said: O Messenger of Allah, make him swear that he does not know that it is my land and the land of my father, which his father usurped. The Kindi prepared to take the oath, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: No servant—or man—seizes property by his oath except that he will meet Allah on the day he meets Him, and He will be maimed. The Kindi then said: It is his land and the land of his father.
