✧ Osama bin Zaid's Love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَمٍّ لِأُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ

ذُكِرَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ مِنْ بَعْضِ الْأَرْيَافِ، حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ قَرِيبًا مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ بِبَعْضِ الطَّرِيقِ أَصَابَهُ الْوَبَاءُ، قَالَ: فَأَفْزَعَ ذَلِكَ النَّاسَ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ لَا يَطْلُعَ عَلَيْنَا نِقَابَهَا يَعْنِي الْمَدِينَةَ.

✧ A man was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who had come from some rural areas, and when he was near Madinah on one of the roads, the plague struck him. He (the narrator) said: That alarmed the people. The Prophet ﷺ said: I hope that its passes will not appear upon us—meaning the passes of Madinah.
