Show the chain

✧ What did you hear from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the plague? Usamah replied: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'It is a punishment sent upon a faction of the Children of Israel, or upon a faction of those before you' — the doubt is in the hadith — 'so if you hear of it in a land, do not go forward to it, and if it occurs in a land while you are there, do not leave fleeing from it.'
