✧ A man entered the mosque of Damascus and said: 'O Allah, comfort my loneliness, have mercy on my estrangement, and provide me with a righteous companion.' Abū al-Dardāʾ heard him and said: 'If you are truthful, I am more fortunate by what you said than you are. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Among them is he who wrongs himself" — meaning the wrongdoer, from whom something is taken in that standing of his, and that is the grief and sorrow. "And among them is he who is moderate" — he said: he is brought to an easy reckoning. "And among them is he who races ahead in good deeds by Allah's permission" — he said: those who enter Paradise without reckoning."
