✧ A man from Syria came with oil, and I negotiated with him along with the other merchants until I bought it from him. He said: Then a man came to me and gave me a profit on it until I was satisfied. He said: So I took his hand to strike it (make the deal), but a man grabbed my arm from behind me. I turned to him, and it was Zayd b. Thābit. He said: Do not sell it where you bought it until you take possession of it to your camp, for the Messenger of God ﷺ forbade that. So I held back my hand.
