✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to Uḥud, and some people who had gone out with him returned. The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ became two factions concerning them: one faction said they should be killed, and one faction said no. Then Allah, Mighty and Majestic, revealed: 'What is [the matter] with you [that you are] two factions concerning the hypocrites?' [Q 4:88]. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: It is Ṭaybah, and it expels impurity just as fire expels the impurity of silver.
