✧ A man came to him and said, 'What do you think of a man who kills another man deliberately?' He said, 'His recompense is Hell, abiding therein forever, and Allah is angry with him and has cursed him and prepared for him a tremendous punishment.' He said, 'It was revealed among the last of what was revealed, and nothing abrogated it until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away, and no revelation came after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' He said, 'What do you think if he repents, believes, and does righteous deeds, then is guided?' He said, 'How can repentance be for him? I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: May his mother be bereft of him—a man who kills another man deliberately. He will come on the Day of Resurrection, seizing his killer with his right hand or his left hand, and seizing his own head with his right hand or his left hand, his jugular veins gushing blood before the Throne, saying: O Lord, ask Your servant why he killed me.'
