✧ Khabbab bin al-Aratt talks about the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ قَيْسٍ قَالَ

دَخَلْنَا عَلَى خَبَّابٍ نَعُودُهُ وَهُوَ يَبْنِي حَائِطًا لَهُ فَقَالَ الْمُسْلِمُ يُؤْجَرُ فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ إْلَّا مَا يَجْعَلُ فِي هَذَا التُّرَابِوَقَدْ اكْتَوَى سَبْعًا فِي بَطْنِهِ وَقَالَ لَوْلَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَانَا أَنْ نَدْعُوَ بِالْمَوْتِ لَدَعَوْتُ بِهِ

Translation

✧ We entered upon a bricklayer while he was constructing a wall. The Muslim said, "One is rewarded for everything except making it out of this mud." He had been affected by abdominal pain for seven days and said, "If it were not for the Prophet of Allah ﷺ forbidding us from praying for death, I would have prayed for it."
