Musnad Ahmad 20903

Translation

✧ To a man: My she-camel went astray; if you find it, keep it. The man found it, but its owner did not come until it fell ill. His wife said to him: Slaughter it so we can eat it. He did not do so until it died. His wife said: Skin it so we can preserve its meat and fat. He said: I will first ask the Messenger of God ﷺ. So he asked him, and he said: Do you have anything that makes you independent of it? He said: No. He said: Eat it. Then its owner came after that and said: Why did you not slaughter it? He said: I felt shy of you.
