Translation

✧ When food was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he ate from it, he would send its leftovers to Abu Ayyub. Abu Ayyub used to trace the marks of the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ fingers and place his fingers where he saw the marks of his fingers. One day a bowl was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he found in it the smell of garlic, so he did not taste it and sent it to Abu Ayyub. Abu Ayyub did not see the marks of the Prophet's ﷺ fingers, so he came and said: O Messenger of Allah, I did not see in it the marks of your fingers. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I found in it the smell of garlic. He said: Why do you send me what you do not eat? He said: The angel comes to me.
