حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ زَائِدَةَ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ
مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ قَطُّ إِلَّا وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ فَمَنْ حَدَّثَكَ أَنَّهُ رَآهُ يَخْطُبُ وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ فَقَدْ كَذَبَ قَالَ وَقَالَ سِمَاكٌ قَالَ جَابِرُ بْنُ سَمُرَةَ كَانَتْ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَخُطْبَتُهُ قَصْدًا وقَالَ جَابِرُ بْنُ سَمُرَةَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا ثُمَّ يَجْلِسُ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيَخْطُبُ

✧ I never saw the Messenger of God ﷺ deliver the sermon on Friday except standing. Whoever tells you that he saw him deliver the sermon while sitting has lied. He said: And Simāk said: Jābir b. Samura said: The prayer of the Messenger of God ﷺ and his sermon were moderate. And Jābir b. Samura said: The Messenger of God ﷺ used to deliver the sermon standing, then sit, then stand and deliver the sermon.
