حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ وَحَجَّاجٌ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ
صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى ابْنِ الدَّحْدَاحِ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ عَلَى أَبِي الدَّحْدَاحِ ثُمَّ أُتِيَ بِفَرَسٍ مَعْرُورٍ فَعَقَلَهُ رَجُلٌ فَرَكِبَهُ فَجَعَلَ يَتَوَقَّصُ بِهِ وَنَحْنُ نَتَّبِعُهُ نَسْعَى خَلْفَهُ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ كَمْ عِذْقٍ مُعَلَّقٍ أَوْ مُدَلًّى فِي الْجَنَّةِ لِابْنِ الدَّحْدَاحِ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ رَجُلٌ مَعَنَا عِنْدَ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ فِي الْمَجْلِسِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كَمْ مِنْ عِذْقٍ مُدَلًّى لِأَبِي الدَّحْدَاحِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed over Ibn al-Dahdah — Hajjaj said: over Abu al-Dahdah — then a horse was brought, bridled, and a man hobbled it. He mounted it, and it began to prance with him while we followed, running behind him. He said: A man from the people said: 'The Prophet ﷺ said: How many clusters of dates are hanging — or suspended — in Paradise for Ibn al-Dahdah?' Hajjaj said in his hadith: A man with us said in the presence of Jabir b. Samara in the gathering: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: How many clusters are suspended for Abu al-Dahdah in Paradise.'
