حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ قَرْمٍ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ
رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا فَمَنْ حَدَّثَكَ أَنَّهُ رَآهُ قَطُّ يَخْطُبُ إِلَّا قَائِمًا فَقَدْ كَذَبَ وَلَكِنَّهُ رُبَّمَا خَرَجَ وَرَأَى النَّاسَ فِي قِلَّةٍ فَجَلَسَ ثُمَّ يَثُوبُونَ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيَخْطُبُ
Translation

✧ I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivering the sermon standing. Whoever tells you that he ever saw him deliver a sermon except standing has lied. But sometimes he would come out, see the people were few, and sit down; then when they gathered, he would stand and deliver the sermon.
