✧ We were with the Messenger of God ﷺ on a journey, and the people were taking turns riding, and there was a shortage of mounts. The turn of the Messenger of God ﷺ and my turn came to walk, so he caught up with me from behind and struck my shoulder, and said: 'Say: "I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak."' So I said: 'I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak.' The Messenger of God ﷺ recited it and I recited it with him. Then he said: 'Say: "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind."' The Messenger of God ﷺ recited it and I recited it with him. Then he said: 'When you pray, recite with them.'
