machine translationAs for Abū ʿUmayr b. Anas, it is said that he is the son of Anas b. Mālik, and his name is ʿAbdullāh. No one narrated from him except Abū Bishr, and whoever is like this is unknown (majhūl) and cannot be used as proof.

machine translationThe companions of Shuʿbah contradicted him: they narrated it from Shuʿbah, from Abū Bishr, from Abū ʿUmayr b. Anas, from some of his paternal uncles, from the Prophet ﷺ. Abū ʿAwānah and Hushaym also narrated it in this way from Abū Bishr, and this is the correct version.
