حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ
أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ سَأَلَ عَنْ فَرِيضَةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الْجَدِّ، فَقَامَ مَعْقِلُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ الْمُزَنِيُّ فَقَالَ: قَضَى فِيهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، قَالَ: مَاذَا قَالَ ؟ السُّدُسَ. قَالَ: مَعَ مَنْ ؟ قَالَ: لَا أَدْرِي، قَالَ: لَا دَرَيْتَ، فَمَا تُغْنِي إِذًا

✧ That Umar b. al-Khattab asked about the obligatory share of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for the grandfather. Ma'qil b. Yasar al-Muzani stood up and said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled concerning it.' He said: 'What did he say?' He replied: 'The sixth.' He said: 'With whom?' He said: 'I do not know.' He said: 'May you never know! What use are you then?'
