حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِقَصْعَةٍ فِيهَا ثَرِيدٌ فَتَعَاقَبُوهَا إِلَى الظُّهْرِ مِنْ غُدْوَةٍ يَقُومُ نَاسٌ وَيَقْعُدُ آخَرُونَ قَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ هَلْ كَانَتْ تُمَدُّ؟ قَالَ فَمِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ تَعْجَبُ؟ مَاكَانَتْ تُمَدُّ إِلَّا مِنْ هَاهُنَا وَأَشَارَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ was brought a bowl containing tharid, and they kept passing it around from morning until noon; some people stood up and others sat down. A man said to him: 'Was it being replenished?' He said: 'From what thing are you amazed? It was not being replenished except from here,' and he pointed to the sky.
