حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ الْعَطَّارُ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنِ سَمُرَةَ
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِثْلَهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ وَيُسَمَّى قَالَ هَمَّامٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ وَرَاجَعْنَاهُ وَيُدَمَّى قَالَ هَمَّامٌ فَكَانَ قَتَادَةُ يَصِفُ الدَّمَ فَيَقُولُ إِذَا ذَبَحَ الْعَقِيقَةَ تُؤْخَذُ صُوفَةٌ فَتُسْتَقْبَلُ أَوْدَاجُ الذَّبِيحَةِ ثُمَّ تُوضَعُ عَلَى يَافُوخِ الصَّبِيِّ حَتَّى إِذَا سَالَ غُسِلَ رَأْسُهُ ثُمَّ حُلِقَ بَعْدُ

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ the like of it, except that he said: 'And he is named.' Hammam said in his hadith, and we reviewed it: 'And he is smeared with blood.' Hammam said: Qatada would describe the blood and say: When the 'aqiqa is slaughtered, a piece of wool is taken and placed against the jugular veins of the slaughtered animal, then it is put on the crown of the infant's head until, when it flows, his head is washed and then shaved afterwards.
