حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْمُحَبِّقِ
أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ أَتَى عَلَى قِرْبَةٍ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ، فَدَعَا مِنْهَا بِمَاءٍ، وَعِنْدَهَا امْرَأَةٌ، فَقَالَتْ: إِنَّهَا مَيْتَةٌ، فَقَالَ: سَلُوهَا أَلَيْسَ قَدْ دُبِغَتْ ؟ فَقَالَتْ: بَلَى، فَأَتَى مِنْهَا لِحَاجَتِهِ، فَقَالَ: ذَكَاةُ الْأَدِيمِ دِبَاغُهُ
Translation

✧ The Prophet of Allah ﷺ came to a waterskin on the day of Hunayn and asked for water from it. There was a woman with it, and she said, "It is from an animal that died." He said, "Ask her: has it not been tanned?" She said, "Yes, indeed." So he took water from it for his need. He said, "The purification of the hide is its tanning."
