✧ A man among those before you, God [Exalted is He] gave him abundant wealth and children, until one era passed and another came. When he was on his deathbed, he said to his children: "What kind of father was I to you?" They said: "The best father." He said: "Will you obey me? Otherwise I will take my wealth from you. When I die, burn me until you leave me as cinders, then crush me with the mortar," and the Messenger of God ﷺ moved his hand opposite his knees. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "By God, they did it." And the Prophet of God ﷺ said with his hand, like this: "Then scatter me on a windy day, so that perhaps I may evade God [Exalted is He]." Thus said Affan. [My father said:] And Muhanna Abu Shibl said, from Hammad: "Evade God." By God, they did that, and there he was standing in the grasp of God [Exalted is He]. He said: "O son of Adam, what led you to do what you did?" He said: "From fear of You." [He said:] "Then God [Exalted is He] met him with it."
