that Ḥuṣayn or Ḥaṣīn came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: O Muḥammad, ʿAbdulmuṭṭalib was better for the people than you: he used to feed them liver and humps and you slaughter them. The Prophet ﷺ then said to him what Allah willed he would said, then he said to him, "What do you order me to say?" He said, "Say, O Allah protect me from the evil of my own self and guide me to the best of my affairs." He said, he then left and then the man accepted Islam, then he came and said: I came to you and you told me to say 'O Allah protect me from the evil of my self and give me guide me to the best of my affairs,' what should I say now? He said, "Say, O Allah forgive what ˹I done˺ in secret and in public, and for the sins ˹I've committed˺ and the intentional ˹wrong˺ I committed, and what ˹what I did˺ knowingly and unknowingly."
