✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent out a military expedition and appointed Ali b. Abi Talib as their commander. He did something during his journey, and they made a pact. Affan said: Four of the companions of Muhammad ﷺ agreed to mention his matter to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Imran said: When we returned from a journey, we would start with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and greet him. He said: They went in to him, and one of them stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah, Ali did such and such." He turned away from him. Then the second stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah, Ali did such and such." He turned away from him. Then the third stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah, Ali did such and such." He turned away from him. Then the fourth stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah, Ali did such and such." He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned to the fourth, his face changed, and said, "Leave Ali alone, leave Ali alone, leave Ali alone. Ali is from me and I am from him, and he is the guardian of every believer after me."

تفرد بها جعفر بن سليمان وهو شيعي بل هو غال في التشيعفظهر بهذا كله أن زيادة لفظ بعدي في هذا الحديث ليست بمحفوظة بل هي مردودة

machine translationJaʿfar b. Sulaymān was alone in narrating it, and he is a Shīʿī, indeed extreme (ghālin) in his Shīʿism. So it is clear from all of this that the addition of the word "after me" in this hadith is not preserved (maḥfūẓ); rather, it is rejected (mardūd).
