حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ
أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ جُهَيْنَةَ اعْتَرَفَتْ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِزِنًى، وَقَالَتْ: أَنَا حُبْلَى، فَدَعَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَلِيَّهَا، فَقَالَ: أَحْسِنْ إِلَيْهَا، فَإِذَا وَضَعَتْ فَأَخْبِرْنِي. فَفَعَلَ فَأَمَرَ بِهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَشُكَّتْ عَلَيْهَا ثِيَابُهَا، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِرَجْمِهَا فَرُجِمَتْ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى عَلَيْهَا، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، رَجَمْتَهَا، ثُمَّ تُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا ؟ فَقَالَ: لَقَدْ تَابَتْ تَوْبَةً لَوْ قُسِمَتْ بَيْنَ سَبْعِينَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ لَوَسِعَتْهُمْ، وَهَلْ وَجَدْتَ شَيْئًا أَفْضَلَ مِنْ أَنْ جَادَتْ بِنَفْسِهَا لِلهِ [تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى] ؟ !

✧ A woman from Juhaynah confessed to the Prophet ﷺ to adultery and said: "I am pregnant." The Prophet ﷺ called her guardian and said: "Treat her well, and when she gives birth, inform me." He did so, and the Prophet ﷺ ordered that her clothes be fastened around her, then ordered her to be stoned, and she was stoned. Then he prayed over her. ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb said: "O Messenger of Allah, you stoned her and then you pray over her?" He said: "She has repented with a repentance that, if divided among seventy of the people of Madinah, would suffice them. And have you found anything better than her giving herself for Allah [Blessed and Exalted be He]?"
