حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ سَيَّارِ بْنِ سَلَامَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَرْزَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ

كَانَ يُؤَخِّرُ الْعِشَاءَ [الْآخِرَةَ] إِلَى ثُلُثِ اللَّيْلِ، وَكَانَ يَكْرَهُ النَّوْمَ قَبْلَهَا، وَالْحَدِيثَ بَعْدَهَا، وَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْفَجْرِ مَا بَيْنَ الْمِائَةِ إِلَى السِّتِّينَ، وَكَانَ يَنْصَرِفُ حِينَ يَنْصَرِفُ وَبَعْضُنَا يَعْرِفُ وَجْهَ بَعْضٍ

Translation

✧ He used to delay the last evening prayer until a third of the night, and he disliked sleeping before it and conversation after it. In the dawn prayer he would recite between a hundred and sixty verses, and he would depart while some of us could recognize the face of another.
